Lycopene In Animal Production

Lycopene is a natural carotenoid, mainly found in ripe tomatoes, watermelon, guava, rose hip, papaya, grapefruit and other fruits. It cannot synthesize lycopene by itself, and 85% of its intake comes from tomatoes and tomato-based products.

Lycopene has anti-oxidation, lipid-lowering, anti-inflammatory and other functions. As a natural feed additive, lycopene can improve the production performance of animals, reduce blood lipids, improve the body's antioxidant capacity and reproductive performance. At present, research in animal production is increasing. In the production of ruminants, poultry, meat rabbits and other animals, lycopene has shown the potential to improve the quality of animal products, which provides a basis for the research and development of healthy animal products.
